On 2 Jan 2022, Free Food Society sent grocery items to 60 families in flooded areas of Meru, Johan Setia in Klang, as well as Surau Baitul Islah in Ampang. We also collaborated with a community organisation, Projek Asal, to extend our food aid to 3 Orang Asli villages, who had been affected by the floods in Jelebu too.

Negeri Sembilan’s fertile district, Jelebu, was hammered by the worst-ever floods. The severity of the floods caused major landslides and bridges to collapse. It was a huge challenge to distribute the food as some areas were practically inaccessible. The villages are desperate for any help they can get after the loss of their possessions and household items with some homes even swept away by the floodwaters.

We really appreciate all the support from donors and volunteers who had joined us in helping the flood victims.
