25 October 2021 – Food Packs for Sabahan Filipinos and Rohingyas in KL

On 29 September, we distributed 66 food packs to Sabahan Filipinos living around Jalan Klang Lama. On the same day, we also distributed 70 food packs to Rohingyas living around Jalan Dato Senu, Sentul.

These Filipinos have settled in Malaysia for a long time but they remain undocumented. They have moved from Sabah to KL to find better employment. Some of them worked in construction, restaurants, and factories.

Since MCO, they have all been out of a job and have no income to buy food. Many have big families with young children. They are not entitled to food aid from the government neither.

Thank you to Sarah Sani from the Refugee Emergency Fund – REF for reaching out to us to help the Rohingyas community. And thank you to Syedah for managing the distribution. Syedah had to rush back from Hospital Ampang where she was doing translating work to oversee the distribution.
